FD Recruit have another CFO Job Vacancy for a London based client – handled by our South East Team.

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Chief Financial / Chief Operating Officer to join a high quality, professional services firm which is a trusted brand in the Private Equity industry. Based in Central London (WC2), this market leading operation, require a commercially focussed senior finance professional to provide finance, commercial and operational support across the organisation during this continued period of rapid growth. Reporting to, and working directly with, a highly entrepreneurial CEO, the successful candidate will have experience of working in a similar industry eg management consulting, advisory, executive recruiting/search or financial services. The C.O.O. will have ultimate responsibility for the Finance, Compliance & Risk, Legal, IT, Facilities and HR functions and the associated teams.

Key duties will encompass:

Finance

Overseeing the Finance function to deliver effective financial control, including cost and purchasing control, fee and sales pipeline, payroll and compensation
Oversee Audit and Statutory Accounts preparation
Financial risk management
Assistance with fund raising as required
Planning and execution

Ownership of the strategic and operational plan for the firm and appraising progress against it, adjusting where needed
Business planning and budgeting processes across Practices
Analysis to drive performance and benchmark efficiency and profitability, including Dashboards and KPIs
Overall accountability for Operations objectives
Management Committee meeting preparation
Standards

Managing reputational risk through training and upholding standards of professionalism
Reviewing project metrics, output, post project reviews and feedback to identify excellence and underperformance
Compliance and Risk

Managing FCA, and potentially FINRA plus passporting for operations in France and Germany
Oversee compliance with GDPR
IT and Facilities

Overseeing IT function, including oversight of disaster recovery plans
Overall facilities management including leases and insurance across all offices, office moves and new office openings
HR and Legal

Oversight of HR including junior and mid-level talent acquisition staff
Touch point with juniors (ear to the ground, ensuring high performers are well aligned and motivated, etc)
Solving legal and HR issues, including client, supplier and employee contracts, governance etc
Knowledge and Issue resolution

Overseeing knowledge strategy – software, working practices, standards
Managing and resolving day to day operational issues such as resourcing, IT problems and office management issues (including health and safety)
Practice performance

With the CEO, key stakeholders to account on KPIs and commitments including monthly catch where relevant
Influencing 14 person Senior Stakeholder Group
With the CEO, spend time with non-UK offices to understand how they operate, keep them in the loop and share best practice
Management of team

Direct reports: Finance team (4 heads), Head of Strategic Projects, IT Manager, Data Analyst, Knowledge Manager, Marketing Manager [plus potentially 1 or 2 heads in HR/talent
Developing and managing direct reports through coaching, delegation, performance management, and role model behaviour
About you:

Qualified Accountant ACA / ACCA / CIMA, ideally with at least 10 years’ post qualified experience, with previous experience as a stand-alone CFO/FD within an International SME environment essential
Experience in a high quality professional services firm environment eg: management consulting, executive recruitment/search or financial services
Experience managing a broad range of operational functions
Track record of delivering step change (rather than incremental) improvements in companies
Background in role which involve influencing senior people to outcomes. Track record of success at this
Strong relationship and communication skills
Team leadership skills, to manage and motivate a small, talented team
