Our Recruitment Processes

About FD Recruit
FD Recruit is an E-commerce website where you can manage your account according to your needs at any one time. In order to protect your confidentiality we do not give our clients access to our database. Clients will set their search criteria and our vacancy team will contact registered candidates to discuss a vacancy when there is a criteria match. Our aim is to increase your chances of finding suitable employment.

Registration  is free

In order to ensure we can sustain FD Recruit as a ‘free to register’ service we ask that you help us maintain efficient processes as detailed below. Our procedures are essential to ensure we utilise our time and resources to generate as many vacancies for our members as we can.

Advertised jobs
Now that you are registered you will be considered for all vacancies that meet your search criteria.
Hopefully our registered members will be successful in securing new opportunities and as a result we will continue to advertise some of our vacancies to attract FDs that are not currently registered but are new to the job market.  As a registered member you will be considered for all relevant jobs alongside all new applicants; therefore you will not be required to apply for any advertised jobs within your search criteria.

Individual vacancies
It is important to our candidates that ALL FD Recruit staff utilise their time generating new vacancies. Therefore FD Recruit staff may not be able to discuss individual vacancies with every candidate that meets the broad criteria we advertise.

The Shortlist
Due to high volumes of registered FDs only a small percentage of candidates who meet the broad criteria will make the shortlist. Our vacancy team will take instruction from our client relating to their vacancy criteria. Normally the client will have a target number of Finance Directors they wish to interview. Frequently the client may tighten their criteria (post-advert) to achieve their target number of interviewees. Due to operational efficiencies FD Recruit will not permit the vacancy team to discuss the client criteria with registered candidates that have not been selected for a shortlist. Unfortunately we are unable to relax this procedure without changing our ‘free to register’ policy.

Your confidentiality during the process
We will not send your details to a client until you have given us your express permission. At the point of FD Recruit accepting an assignment the client will only know the search count their vacancy criteria has yielded. Your details will only be presented to the client after you have received a detailed brief either over the phone or in person and after which you have then permitted us to include you in the shortlist.

The initial interview process
A good proportion of our vacancies will be retained assignments. With our retained assignments FD recruit will be enlisted to conduct the first round of interviews and present a more finite shortlist for the second round of interviews. All candidates that participate in a first or second round of interviews will be given feedback on their interview.

Variations in interview processes
The client interview process will differ from assignment to assignment. Some clients will have shorter interview methods than others and certain processes may include assessment centres, psychometric testing and presentational exercises. Whatever the process, the vacancy team will be available to guide you through and keep you informed on your progress.

References and job offers
Our clients will not seek to take up references with current employers until a job offer has been made. Our experienced vacancy team will be on hand to help you with the negotiation process and advise you on interpreting the terms and conditions of the employment offer.
